Terms of Service

PlebChat is free, open-source software served as a static web page. Using it means you accept these terms. They are short because the architecture keeps them short: we run no servers for your data, hold no accounts, and process no payments on your behalf.

The software

  • PlebChat is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind — express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. It is pre-release software; features and data formats can change without notice.
  • To the maximum extent permitted by law, the authors are not liable for any loss arising from your use of PlebChat — including lost keys, lost data, lost funds, or the output of AI models you connect.

Your responsibilities

  • Your keys are yours alone. PlebChat never sees or stores your private key on any server; if you lose it, no one can recover it or anything encrypted to it.
  • The wallet is pocket money. The built-in Lightning/ecash wallet stores key material in this browser. Do not keep more in it than you would carry in cash.
  • You choose your providers. AI endpoints, nostr relays, ecash mints, and media servers you configure are third parties with their own terms; your use of them is between you and them.
  • You own what you publish — and answer for it. Content you sign and publish to relays is yours, is attributable to your key, and may be impossible to retract from the network. Do not use PlebChat for unlawful ends.
  • Generated images are yours to answer for too. When you generate or edit a picture through PlebChat credits, your prompt and any reference pictures go to the image vendor we route to (Google or xAI today, named next to each model) under that vendor's own content policy, and their refusal is final on our side. Do not generate a real person's likeness without their consent, and do not use generated pictures to deceive. Some vendors mark their output with an invisible watermark; we neither add nor remove one.

Our infrastructure

PlebChat ships preconfigured with a default relay we operate for the app's benefit. It is best-effort, write-restricted, unbacked-up, and may be wiped or retired at any time before release. It is a convenience, not a commitment — configure your own relays for anything you care about.

These terms may change as the project matures; the "last updated" date above tells you when. Material changes will be noted in the app's changelog.
